Effective Communication with our Families
The purpose of this page is to serve as a guide for ensuring effective communication between parents/carers and school staff by signposting effective ways to communicate with our staff team.
It is the school’s aim to work with parents/carers to solve problems wherever possible. Where it is not possible to reach your preferred outcome and/or when we just do not agree we still hope that these communications can remain respectful and polite.
This page also sets out who is best to contact and who parents/carers could escalate concerns to in an attempt to find a collaborative solution.

Our Parent App – My Child at School
We have a School App, where parents can access their son’s timetable, reports, behaviour and attendance records along with many other features. Contact us at: support@knbs.co.uk, ‘For the Attention of: IT Support’, if you would like access to this.

Each term we produce a termly newsletter to share some of that terms events in our busy schedule.
Contacting Tutors or Teaching Staff
To contact a member of teaching staff or tutor with a query, question or concern, please email: enquiry@knbs.co.uk adding the staff member’s name in the subject line. Your son will be able to let you know who his form tutor is and his teachers are named on his timetable on the parent App, show my homework App, or his timetable in his school handbook.
We use the enquiry line so that your email can be added to our communication tracking and in the case of absence this will ensure someone is allocated to communicate with you in proxy. If parents email staff directly, we may not be aware that you are expecting a reply and your communication could get lost in times of absence. Tutors and teachers can receive a rather a lot of emails, they also have busy teaching timetables so please be patient. If it is an emergency please call the switchboard.
Pastoral Queries – Contacting your son’s Form Tutor/Head of Year:
Please contact the school enquiry line: enquiry@knbs.co.uk . In the subject line, please indicate clearly who the email should be forwarded to (for example, “FAO Head of Year 8”, “FAO Tutor 9V”, “FAO Mr X”).
Curriculum Queries – Contacting your son’s teacher / Head of Department of Faculty

There may be an occasion where you wish to contact a Head of Department or Head of Faculty, or member of the Senior Leadership Team. To make successful communication please email: enquiry@knbs.co.uk adding the staff member’s name in the subject line.
When things go wrong…
We have a complaints policy if things go wrong with our communication processes. Please refer to the two policies below if you have are unsatisfied with the communication that you have received.
Please keep your contact details up to date
lt is important that the school has current phone numbers, home address and e-mail address, including emergency contact details on file in our school data system. If you move or change your phone number, it is imperative that you notify the school and update your details. Please visit or contact the main office.
