Mrs Dorcas Fatade
Dorcas sits on the Education sub-committee. She has two girls that attend King Edward VI Northfield School for Girls in Years 9 and 11. Dorcas has always had a passion for working with children. She believes that children should be encouraged to dream big and nurtured in the belief that they can accomplish anything they set their minds to with determination, hard work and a rich and varied education. Having worked at the BBC in various roles for over 14 years, Dorcas left her position in 2015 to pursue a career in education. She trained as an Early Years Teacher and has since worked as a Reception and Nursery Teacher. Dorcas also voluntarily teaches children Maths and English at a Saturday school in Aston. Dorcas hopes her skills and experience in education will help to push Northfield School for Girls to even higher educational outcomes for all the girls that attend.
Dorcas has a daughter with Type 1 diabetes that attends King Edward VI Northfield School for Girls and she has been extremely impressed with the support and nurture her daughter has received from the school. Dorcas hopes that as a school governor she will be in a position to help the school continue to provide support and care for those who need it.
