Mrs Maxine Ricketts
With over 20 years teaching experience I initially began my teaching career delivering ‘A’ Level Business Studies at City College Birmingham. As a person with a heart for teenagers I later made the decision that I wanted to teach Secondary and completed my PGCE at Wolverhampton University. I then began my Secondary Education Teaching journey. I later made the decision to move to Canada where I continued my teaching career in their private education system. I returned to the UK in December 2008 and gained a teaching position as an English Teacher at Turves Green School for Girls later to become King Edwards VI Northfield School for Girls. I am still a member of the teaching team at the school and enjoy being part of a very warm vibrant community of dedicated teachers and pupils.
I have a variety of personal interests. I am a keen sports person with an NVQ Level 3 in Personal Training; I am a committed practicing Christian and am a member of a food charity by the name of Blessed to Bless.
An environmentally friendly charity that collects food that would often be discarded by supermarkets, and via a mobile distribution system Blessed to Bless will go into local communities providing a foodbank service. Charity work plays an important part in my life as I feel it is very important to give back to the community, not forgetting how rewarding it is to myself. In the past I have worked abroad with charitable organisations that have supported disadvantaged women and families.
