TRANSITION TEAM VISITS TO STUDENTS’ PRIMARY SCHOOLS

During this summer term, key staff have started arranging visits with our feeder primary schools. It has been great getting into some primary schools already, meeting with primary staff and hopefully the boys too.

PRE-TRANSITION MORNINGS FOR STUDENTS WITH SEND – Monday 1st July and Tuesday 2nd July*

*If your child has SEND needs, you will be notified which date you will be required to attend – either Monday 1st July or Tuesday 2nd July.

Our pre-transition mornings for students with SEND will take place on Monday 1st July and Tuesday 2nd July*. This will give students the opportunity to meet the Learning Support Team, ahead of the transition day for all students which is on Wednesday 3rd July.  On this day, they will learn about the support available, and they will be able to ask any questions about inclusion at King’s Norton School for Boys.

PRE-TRANSITION DROP IN FOR FAMILIES OF STUDENTS WITH SEND – Monday 1st July and Tuesday 2nd July*

Families of students with SEND will have the chance to join drop-in sessions with the Inclusion Team after their child has had their pre-transition morning.

This will be from 12.00-13.00.

Please be aware that this is only for the families and children with an EHCP and those already on the SEND register. Please speak to your primary school’s SENDCO if you are unsure about this.

TRANSITION DAY FOR ALL STUDENTS Wednesday 3rd July

We are really looking forward to welcoming our new students to the school. This day will give them a taster of what life is like as a King’s Norton boy. They will experience some lessons, they will get to know the school building, and they will meet some of the key staff who will be working with them next year. In previous years, this has been a valuable experience for our new students, and they always look back on it with fond memories.

TRANSITION INFORMATION EVENING FOR FAMILIES – Wednesday 3rd July

We will be hosting an information evening in school for Parents/Carers on Wednesday 3rd July. This is a great way to see the school, share some of the day’s experiences and meet key people, especially your son’s Head of Year and Form Tutor.
