Student Medical Needs
Parents of students with medical conditions should contact our medical needs Co-ordinator Mrs Forth to discuss any additional needs that require support in school through the schools enquiry email enquiry@knbs.co.uk or via telephone: 0121 628 0010 (Mon – Wed)
Medication in School
The school encourages parents to ask the GP to prescribe medications in dosages which mean that they can be administered outside of school hours, wherever possible. This will mean that most medication will not need to be administered during school hours. For example, if the prescription states that twice daily doses should be given, these can be administered in the morning before school and in the evening after school, and if the prescription requires three doses a day these can often be given in the morning before school, immediately after school and at bedtime.
Where medication is to be administered at school parents will need to complete our medication in school form and return this along side the medication, which must clearly display the students name and prescription label to the main reception.
Consent to Administer an Emergency Device
If your son is prescribed with an Inhaler or Auto Adrenaline Injector (Epipen) we also request that you complete the consent to administer an emergency device form below and return them to the main reception.
Paper copies of all forms are available from the school office upon request.
